WesTech Engineering has an immediate need for a Temporary Part-Time Recruiter/HR AssistantThis position supports our HR Department of 3.5 employees.  A significant area of focus is our engineering and technical recruiting and staffing activities.  Other duties include support of various other HR functions, including Compensation, Benefits, Safety, and Employee Relations.   Responsibilities include: full-cycle recruiting, developing and maintaining professional relationships, attending career fairs, developing job descriptions, filing, etc.

 Essential Job Functions

  • Assist with recruitment efforts and processes to attract and retain qualified individuals.
  • Assist with all aspects of full-cycle recruitment for engineering and technical positions:
    • Source, pre-screen, interview, check references, extend job offers, close job files.
  • Utilize social media, career sites, Company website, and effective oral and written persuasion as key recruiting tools.
  • Ensure recruitment process is compliant with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Update the Company Intranet with open positions and recruitment events.
  • Partner with hiring managers and leaders within the Company to source strategic talent.
  • Advise leaders in employment laws and best practices.
  • Assist with the development of job descriptions.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
  • Some clerical duties such as creation of personnel paperwork, filing, etc.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

 Non-Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with colleges/universities, and all other sources for networking.
  • Attend job/career fairs with appropriate staff as a source to generate qualified applicants.
  • Assist in coordination of major Company activities/events.

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Understanding of employment law with the ability to assist supervisors.
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to make people feel comfortable and welcome.
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail and follow through.
  • Excellent time management skills and able to work with deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to present to all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of engineering/technical recruiting experience. Experience working for an engineering company a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Office setting environment, including frequent computer work.
  • Frequently required to sit, talk, hear, and see. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Regularly required to move around the facility.
  • Occasionally required to stand and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform other duties, as required.
